Italian artist Fabio Cipolla’s painting “The red umbrella” (51 x 35 cm., oil on canvas) was sold at Sotheby’s auction for 26,200 USD on October 23, 2007.

Cipolla, Fabio, genre and costume painter, b. 1854. Of his pictures are mentioned: “Costume Arabo” (Turin, 1880), “Sogno color di rosa” and “La Mora” (Milan, 1881), “La Vedova di Naim” (Rome, 1883), “Ave Maria” and “In campagna” (Turin, 1884), “Chagrin d’amour” (Paris Salon, 1898), “Lo specchio” (Rome, 1902), “Di sera” (Promotrice Romana, 1908).”
