Józef Wodziński (also Josef von Wodzinski, born 1859 in Korytnica, died 1918) was a Polish genre and landscape painter active in Germany. In addition to the oil painting, he supplied the original German and English illustrated sheets.
Wodziński began his painter’s apprenticeship at Wojciech Gerson and Aleksander Kamiński in Warsaw and continued it from 1878 to 1881 at the School of Fine Arts in Cracow. Since October 10, 1881 to 1884, he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Munich with Otto Seitz and then in Vienna. After graduation, he settled in Munich, after 1900 he came to Berlin.
From 1881 to 1897 he exhibited his works at the Society of Friends of Fine Arts in Cracow and at the Society for the Advancement of Fine Arts in Warsaw. He has also been on international exhibitions since 1889.
